I was born and raised in Boise, Idaho where I spent my childhood exploring the abundant nature just out my backdoor. A love for the mountains and outdoor activities led me to Bozeman, Montana for my undergraduate studies where—between hiking, skiing and trying new hobbies like fly fishing and snow shoeing—I earned degrees in Cell Biology and Neuroscience and in Spanish Language and Literature. From there I returned to Boise and spent a year volunteering in free clinics for low-income patients. It was through these rewarding experiences that I developed an interest in empowering positive changes through health education. During medical school at the University of Washington I further developed this interest and discovered my passion for women’s health and advocating for women’s rights.

I was drawn to New Mexico for the natural beauty of the area and the warmth of the people, both the patient population and the faculty. It is here at UNM that I see myself developing the skills necessary to provide the highest quality of comprehensive women's health care throughout all stages of life.

When I am not at the hospital, I can be found running, hiking, skiing, tending to my ever-wilting plants or cooking. My husband and I are excited to become involved in the communities of New Mexico and explore the many unique cultural and outdoor possibilities offered by the Land of Enchantment!
