I was raised in Albuquerque and have grown to love this city and everything it has to offer. I love the distinct four seasons, the outdoor activities year round, and of course, the green chile. I also knew I wanted to stay at UNM to complete my OBGYN residency because of the strength of this program, the diverse patient population especially the large number of Spanish-speaking patients, and the amazing residents!

As for my Life Before Med School, I grew up in Albuquerque and played soccer through high school and afterwards on coed intramural or pick-up indoor/outdoor teams. I have spent as much time outdoors and traveling as possible locally, throughout the US, and abroad. Although I have always known I wanted to go to medical school, I majored in Business with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Studies/Organizational Management and minored in Chemistry. Worked in serving/restaurant jobs through undergrad and as an Anesthesia Tech the year between undergrad and medical school.

My hobbies are Traveling; my most recent BIG trip was Thailand/Bali/Singapore before residency began. Adventures: Outdoor activities -- hiking, running, snowboarding, snowshoeing, yoga, stand-up paddleboarding. Concerts. Exploring with friends and the boyfriend, and usually our dog, Char Char. I like reading for pleasure.

Worst/Best Job. Worst job was working at a hot dog stand on the State Fair Grounds -- although I did get to people watch and go to concerts/rodeos for free which was a huge plus. Best job was as an Anesthesia Tech at a Outpatient Surgical Facility.

Fun facts: I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. A lot of my family members were in the FBI. I have at least attempted almost all sports, from roller hockey and kickboxing to jazz and equestrian.  My boyfriend and I have a Rottweiler/Shar-pei named Char Char and a feisty talkative cat named Scoops.
